Attachment Styles ‘Round The Zodiac

Attachment styles

Is there correlation between astrology and relationship attachment styles?  It seems to me, “nature”, is part of the equation here.

Attachment Style - Secure Childhood Experience – Caregivers were responsive, loving, and consistent. Adult Romantic Behavior – Comfortable with intimacy, trusts easily, handles conflict well.

Attachment Style - Anxious-Preoccupied Childhood Experience - Caregivers were inconsistent (sometimes loving, sometimes neglectful). Adult Romantic BehaviorCraves closeness, fears abandonment, seeks reassurance.

Attachment Style - Avoidant-Dismissive Childhood Experience - Caregivers were emotionally distant or rejecting. Adult Romantic Behavior – Values independence, struggles with vulnerability, may seem detached.

Attachment Style - Fearful-Avoidant (Disorganized) Childhood Experience - Caregivers were frightening or abusive. Adult Romantic Behavior – Wants love but fears hurt, chaotic relationships, hot-and-cold behavior.

Generally speaking, Earth signs tend towards secure attachment, valuing stability and consistency. Water signs can be anxious, due to their emotional sensitivities.

Air signs and Sagittarius can align with avoidant-dismissive attachment, due to their independence and intellectual pursuits.

Fire-Water mashups (like Scorpio) can tend toward fearful-avoidant attachment, experiencing a push-pull between the desire for intimacy and fear of hurt.

How do align with these general ideas?

I’m Earthy and I do attach, securely, in spite of my childhood.  This is after a lot of work on myself.  When  I was younger, I had Avoidant-Dismissive traits.  I also had fearful-avoidant traits, at times, which expressed through the partner I chose.

How would you classify yourself?  Does the astrology fit?
